Resident Evil 2 remake is just over a week from launch and hype continues to build. Last week, Capcom gave players a preview of the 1-shot demo, which has now been downloaded over 1 million times, allowing fans to explore and experience the reimagining of the iconic survival-horror classic in under thirty minutes.

Of course, the imposed time limit did not stop some people from exploring every single scenario possible in the game especially since a hack was recently discovered allowing players to get unlimited time playing the demo. In a video posted by YouTuber Crowbat, the streamer experimented with the demo to see what is possible within its constraints.

Crowbat’s experiments provide an exciting insight into the remake’s level of design that explores some unique interactions in the game. The video tested several possible situations that mostly involved zombies and how the player can interact with them including areas where zombies won’t be able to follow the character. Small details such as the inability of zombies to break through doors if the player decapitates their arms were showcased in the experiment, which adds a level of realism not seen in the original game.

Also, whenever the player finds themselves in a tight spot, the video showed that climbing on ladders even when the player is within reach, will make it impossible for zombies to attack them. Of course, fans who have played the original game know that zombies can spew out acid whenever the player is out of reach. Unfortunately, this particular ability might have been omitted in the remake, unless Capcom only disabled it in the demo.

While the experiment doesn’t show anything of importance in the plot of Resident Evil 2, it still provides a fascinating look at how well the game is made. Of course, it is worth noting that everything showcased in the video was done through the demo, so things may change in the final version of Resident Evil 2. Nonetheless, the game is coming out in a matter of days, and Capcom recently revealed its story length, giving players more than enough time to test out any of the scenarios shown above for themselves.

Resident Evil 2 releases on January 25, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
