With the Resident Evil 2 remake coming out over 20 years after the release of the original game, Capcom is able to give it significantly improved graphics. This has included some tweaks to basic enemy and character designs as well, with Claire Redfield getting a brand new look in Resident Evil 2 when it releases early next year.

Claire Redfield in the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake has been redesigned from the ground-up. As we saw with her brother Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 7, Claire's face has been changed a bit, and she is also sporting some brand new threads. The hot pants she wore in the original game have been replaced with jeans, and she is now wearing a leather motorcycle jacket as well. Claire's character design in the new Resident Evil 2 has a lot more detail than the original version, which is something Capcom was able to achieve by scanning in a real-world costume.

Like in the original release, Claire enters the zombie-infested Raccoon City via motorcycle, and that hasn't changed in the remake. However, one difference in the new game is that this time Claire is driving an officially licensed Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Fans can check out Claire's Harley and her brand new look in the image below, which was released by Capcom at the San Diego Comic-Con (click on the image for a closer look):

As can be seen in the image, Claire may be getting a new look for Resident Evil 2, but her design is still true to her character. As we saw in the E3 2018 trailer, Leon S. Kennedy is also getting a new look in the remake, but he is still unmistakably Leon.

We've been given close looks at Leon, Claire, Sherry Birkin, Mr. X, and more, but there are still some characters from Resident Evil 2 that have yet to be revealed by Capcom. For example, we have yet to see the new design for the giant alligator, and William Birkin is also being kept underwraps. However, these characters and more should be revealed in the months leading up to the game's release.

Resident Evil 2 will launch on January 25, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
