One of the most anticipated horror games of 2020 has sadly been delayed. Remothered: Broken Porcelain, the sequel to Remothered: Tormented Fathers, has been pushed back just one month after its original release date was announced.

Back in the middle of June 2020, horror fans got a taste of what the Remothered sequel was going to be all about. Modus Games released a fantastically creepy new trailer, and fans of the genre were all about it. It also got a release date of August 25th, 2020. But that no longer looks as though it's going to be possible, Modus has said in a press release.

Dev team Modus Games has announced that the much-anticipated Remothered: Broken Porcelain will be pushed back until October 20, 2020. The team just needs a little more time to polish the game and ensure the experience is everything that Modus wants it to be, it mentioned in the press release. With many other games being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it's not a surprise that Remothered: Broken Porcelain was also.

"It’s important that we deliver the experience fans deserve," says Modus, and it's hard not to agree with that. With so many games rushed through production, it's good to see some titles willing to pause and take more time when they need it. It is important to the future of game development that companies start to move away from crunch culture, like Suda51 at Grasshopper games has done.

While the extra two-month wait will be hard for many fans, it will be released right around Halloween. Just like the Halloween physical release of Remothered: Tormented Fathers last year, fans will get to play this new horror game at the spookiest time of the year. So between getting a better game, a more polished experience, less crunch at Modus, and one of the most anticipated scary games at the scariest time of the year looks like wins all around for the horror game fan base.

Between Little Hope and Remothered coming this Halloween season, it looks like horror fans will be getting quite the autumn.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain will be released October 20, 2020, for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
