A unique weapon in Remnant: From The Ashes called The Chicago Typewriter will give players a leg up in the difficult Souls-like; if only they can find it. The powerful submachine gun requires a very specific set of circumstances to obtain and relies on some luck in the procedurally generated world.

On the surface, Remnant:From the Ashes looks a lot like Dark Souls. But in reality, it twists the formula enough to feel like its own thing. It does, however, contain the difficult heart of a Souls game, which means players will want to take every opportunity to make it easier on themselves.  The Chicago Typewriter will help cut through the Roots with a bit more ease.

To get the gun, players have to work a little harder than they do to find Forged Iron in Remnant. It requires playing with the game's procedural generation system to try to spawn a unique event that some players might miss entirely. The event happens on earth somewhere near the church where two survivors will appear in a tussle with a Root monster. Players need to rescue the survivors and try to make sure both of them make it through.

If the player can keep both survivors alive, the one named Lizzie will give the player a special key. Players can use the key to unlock a nearby door, behind which lies the coveted Chicago Typewriter machine gun; one of the best weapons in Remnant: From the Ashes. The gun features a larger magazine and a higher rate of fire than other submachine guns in the game.

This may sound easy enough, but players must remember that Remnant has a randomness factor stacked on top of its high difficulty. Many players might not see the event at all, and if they do, they may have a lot of trouble keeping Lizzie alive so they can get the key. Some players have found they can defeat the tree monster to raise their chances of spawning the event, but others have said that it can spawn either way.

As more folks explore Remnant, surely more hidden weapons will emerge. The game features a world that generates differently each time a player starts the game, and that creates the randomness that makes this event so hard to guarantee. Folks who don't mind playing through the campaign a few times in order to get the good stuff can start over until they get the events they want. Otherwise they can lean on generous use of Remnant's Dragon Heart instead of powerful guns.
