Greetings, Ranters, and a special "hello" to everyone I met at PAX over the weekend. Yes, PAX Prime 2010 has, sadly, come to a close, and what do we have left to fill the void? Tons and tons of games, of course.

The first full week of September is practically overflowing with highly anticipated titles. No doubt, a few of these games are hoping to make an impact at retail in advance of the 800 pound gorilla that is Halo: Reach, which will be invading many an Xbox 360 next week.

But there is no reason to just wait for Reach when there are so many new games hitting store shelves right now. Have a look at the new releases for September 5 through 11, 2010, broken out by platform and date.

You might not expect it, but Game Rant is staffed by no small number of serious hockey fans. As such, the arrival of NHL 11 is cause for a serious surge of excitement around these parts. Long considered to be the pinacle of console sports games, NHL 11 arrives practically uncontested this year, with NHL 2K11 restricted to Nintendo's Wii. Will NHL 11 live up to its legacy? We certainly liked the demo, but be sure to check back for Game Rant's full review of NHL 11, coming soon.

Another game that's gotten a lot of coverage on Game Rant these last few months is Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. There has been trailer after trailer after trailer, and the consensus seems to be that the game looks pretty good. Will Shattered Dimension be the game that returns Spider-Man to video-game glory? Stay tuned.

It's not often that a PSP game gets called out as one of the key titles of the week, but that is exactly what's happening right now. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep abandons the more esoteric diversions of the series' past few handheld iterations and gets right at the core of what made the original PS2 games so much fun: frantic combat and plenty of Disney. Check out the launch trailer for proof. If you, like me, haven't been feeding your PSP a steady diet of new games recently, this is definitely the title to change that.

As always, we want to hear from you. Which of this week's new games are you planning to pick up. Which upcoming games are you looking forward to?
