A well-known source of seemingly accurate leaks has teased the release date for Redfall, Arkane Studios' next big game that will be launched sometime in 2023. With the apparent release year upon us, some fans of the Austin-based studio are looking to alternative sources for hints about when Redfall might land, in light of the fact that the company has remained tight-lipped about a concrete date of arrival.
Redfall was announced at E3 2021 via a trailer that gave players a sneak peek at the upcoming open-world vampire shooter. No solid release date was given with the announcement trailer beyond a rather vague 2022, but Redfall and Starfield were officially delayed into the following year. Delays are increasingly par for the course, with many of today's more ambitious titles having been pushed back.
An insider known on ResetEra as Klobrille weighed in, rebuffing another user's suggestion that the game would release in Fall 2023 using some unusual wording, saying they "May" disagree. This noncommittal response should be taken with a grain of salt, but implies that the game will be released in May 2023. The few things we know for certain about Redfall and Starfield seem to lend what could possibly be a cryptic clue some credibility. What's more, another insider indicated that Redfall is targeting May for release.
Starfield is easily one of 2023's most hotly anticipated titles, and is slated for "the first half" of 2023. With a Microsoft employee recently confirming that Redfall will release before Starfield, a May release is within the realm of possibility, but until Microsoft confirms the actual dates, there is no way of knowing for certain when these upcoming titles will release. For all fans know, either of these games could be delayed again.
Some may argue that such a statement isn't worth putting much stock in, since rumors and leaks are often either completely wrong or educated guesses at best, but it's not as if accurate information hasn't leaked in the gaming space. Known industry insiders like Klobrille have earned a reputation for accurately teasing information, often in a guarded manner to maintain plausible deniability while leaving their fans and followers to follow the trail of breadcrumbs. With the dawning of the new year, it shouldn't be long until fans find out more. Redfall may even get a beta ahead of release, as suggested by a recent datamine.
