Developer Arkane Studios is working on Redfall, an open-world, story-driven shooter that takes place on an island that is being overrun by vampires. A new trailer for Redfall is out, covering many details about gameplay, characters, setting, and a plethora of other things in this action-packed, vampire-slaying game.

From the creators of Dishonored and Prey, Redfall is a highly anticipated game for Xbox players, ever since it was first announced during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 showcase. Featuring both single player and co-op, the game promises a wide variety of ways to enjoy the story in Redfall's open world. The combat gameplay also looks diverse, with many different methods of attacking and hunting down the vampires that have taken over the island.

The trailer highlights the four playable characters:

  • Jacob Boyer
  • Remi De La Rosa
  • Devinder Crousley
  • Layla Ellison

Each one of Redfall's characters has a unique playstyle and different mechanics. For example, Remi has a mechanical robot companion that aids her in battle. Layla is more reminiscent of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and has telekinetic powers and abilties to help her fight the vampires. The trailer also showcases how the characters are customizable, showing a skill tree and custom loadouts.

Redfall island is under siege by vampires and players are able to jump into the fight either solo or squad up with up to three friends to play co-op multiplayer. It isn't clear from the trailer if the game forces players to choose one of the four playable characters or if they can double up, but either way, fans will be able to team up together to take on the vampires.

The trailer reveals minimal information about the game's story, but does indicate that the players will be up against a strange collective consciousness of vampires that are laying siege to the island of Redfall. The four characters are teaming up to defend the island and to take it back from the vampires that have infested it. Players can embark on the action-packed adventure together in co-op mode, taking control of Redfall's characters and their abilities to win the day.

Although the trailer doesn't reveal every aspect of the game, it still gives fans a lot to look forward to over the next year as they wait anxiously for Redfall to release.

Redfall will release in 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
