Now that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released to the public, fans of Rockstar Games are wondering what's next from the critically-acclaimed studio. Rumors have been swirling about what Rockstar could have cooking up, ranging from Bully 2 to Grand Theft Auto 6, but the latest rumor points to the team making a return trip to the Wild West.

A rumor has started making the rounds online that Rockstar Games may be working on a Red Dead Redemption remake, even though it just released Red Dead Redemption 2. The rumor seems to stem from a YouTube video by Elemeno Peah, which allegedly shows a glitch that has convinced some fans that Rockstar is working on a Red Dead Redemption remake.

The video in question can be found right here, but please note that it contains MASSIVE SPOILERS for the plot of Red Dead Redemption 2. The rest of this article will also contain spoilers for the game as well as the original Red Dead Redemption, so anyone who has yet to finish either of them may want to turn away.

In the above video, Elemeno Peah appears to have encountered a glitch in the Epilogue where John Marston is speaking with his son Jack Marston's adult voice. The significance behind this is that Jack Marston serves as the protagonist in the Epilogue for the original Red Dead Redemption following John's death, leading some to believe that Rockstar has already recorded lines for Jack in a potential Red Dead Redemption remake.

Considering the fact that the entire Red Dead Redemption map is in Red Dead Redemption 2, it's not totally unrealistic that Rockstar may consider pursuing a remake. What form that remake would take would be interesting to see; would it be almost exactly like the original with updated graphics, or would it be more in line with Red Dead Redemption 2?

Before fans get too excited about a Red Dead Redemption remake, it's worth pointing out that this theory is based on some pretty flimsy evidence. The "glitch" in question could have been faked, and regardless, there are any number of reasons why those audio files would be in Red Dead Redemption 2. Perhaps they have to do with some DLC that takes place after the events of the first Red Dead Redemption? Or maybe they hold no significance. Whatever the case may be, it's unlikely that Rockstar comments on the matter, and so fans will just have to sit tight to see what's next from the studio.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
