For many Red Dead Redemption fans, the game’s varied cast of characters are likely what makes the title so unforgettable. Up to now, players continue to create fan art of RDR gang members, and even publish deep dives into the complex backstory of those with integral roles. One such character that many fans likely feel should have more of the spotlight is side villain Javier Escuella, with one fan even creating artwork that conceptualized what a game cover would be like if Javier was the main protagonist of his own Red Dead Redemption title.

The Red Dead Redemption series has a penchant for romanticizing its complex villains. This can be seen in how well-loved and well-known gang leader Dutch Van der Linde continues to be throughout the whole franchise. Players likely consider this as one of the best points of the Red Dead Redemption games. These villains often provide great contrast and unique plot points to complicate the journey of the main characters. However, Rockstar Games has yet to develop a whole game dedicated to the intriguing villains of Red Dead Redemption, and it seems it might not even be in the pipeline.

To show off his love for Javier, and to hopefully entice the game's developers to think about making villain-centric titles in the franchise, Redditor Slight_Revolution177 created fan artwork reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption's cover art. This time, instead of focusing on the game's leading men John Marston and Arthur Morgan, the original poster placed Javier front and center. The artist also made a play on the game's title, naming their artwork "Red Dead Revolution" instead. According to the image's description, the Reddit user explained that the plot of the conceptual game would take place after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, likely after the Van der Linde gang broke apart.

Though many replies on the Reddit thread were very impressed by the artist's idea, some pointed out that they had issues with playing as Javier. This is due to Javier's role being mainly antagonistic in Red Dead Redemption, and the ultimate path of his future. However, some players thought the concept could possibly work for a new title that focused on Javier's history fleeing Mexico, and joining arms with Dutch Van der Linde after.

Nevertheless, the community will likely not lack in Red Dead Redemption online content anytime soon, given just how much players still patronize the series. Hopefully Rockstar Games will announce something soon, to boost fan engagement and excitement in the future.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
