Winner of four awards at The Game Awards 2018, for Best Performance, Best Score and Music, Best Narrative, and Best Audio Design, Red Dead Redemption 2 is undoubtedly one of the most iconic games from Rockstar Games. It can be safely said that Red Dead Redemption 2 is perhaps the most successful game from Rockstar Games after Grand Theft Auto 5. With talks going around the community about the possibility of a new title in the series, there has also been a great deal of speculation regarding the characters that might be making a return in it. In lieu of that, a lot of the actors involved with Red Dead Redemption 2 have expressed their desire to reprise their roles in a hypothetical sequel.

Now, this obviously raises multiple questions regarding the plot of a possible upcoming Red Dead Redemption game. The most popular speculations going around in the community hint that the next Red Dead Redemption could well be a prequel to this title.

This article will have MAJOR SPOILERS for the Red Dead Redemption games.

Actors from Red Dead Redemption 2 Who would Love to Make a Reprisal for a Future Title in the Series

One of the most talked-about characters whom fans would love to see in the hypothetical Red Dead Redemption 3 is the RDR2 protagonist, Arthur Morgan. However, there is still ambiguity as to how this will pan out since the previous titles in the series provide closure to his saga. In addition to his death, Red Dead Redemption 2 also ends with the disbanding of the Van der Linde gang. One way how this can work is if the upcoming game is a prequel, perhaps following the Blackwater Massacre.

Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clark has explicitly expressed his desire of making his return as Arthur in the upcoming title in the series. Clark has spoken to Game Rant about his desire and put his faith in the studio to find a way to resurrect his character for an upcoming Red Dead Redemption game.

"Sure! The creatives at Rockstar Games are my friends and colleagues. What's more, they are my favorite video game studio... How [Arthur's return] were to happen, I don't know, but one thing I do know: Rockstar Games never fail to surprise and deliver quality."

Although there is still ambiguity regarding the return of Arthur in future Red Dead Redemption storylines, Clark is not the only actor who has his hopes up for a reprisal. There has been a lot of talk going around in the community, speculating and almost demanding the return of Sadie Adler in future titles of the franchise. A widowed rancher who rose above her grief, Adler is the kind of character players would love to see as the protagonist of the hypothetical Red Dead Redemption 3. Moreover, the line of video games from Rockstar Games has seldom featured a female protagonist, and Adler seems like a good place to start.

Furthermore, placing Sadie Adler as the protagonist of the next Red Dead Redemption game would make for a rather interesting setting, as it was heavily implied that she traveled to South America after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2This even opens up the possibility of her being kind of a lone wolf in Red Dead Redemption 3, a solo traveler forging her story through a ruthless world of outlaws. Furthermore, following the story of Sadie Adler might bring Mexico into the hypothetical RDR3 as a locale, and not just as a glitch this time.

The actor who brought to life this strong character, Alex McKenna, feels the same way as well. While the possibility of an upcoming Red Dead Redemption title is almost edging into a certainty, fans have been fantasizing about Adler being the lead character and McKenna is entirely on board with it. This is what she had to say about the chance of reprising her role as the rancher/gunslinger:

"I do very much love Sadie Adler. I got to play her for five years so she holds a very specific place in my heart and also, maybe the coolest character I've played to date in my career."

Along with Sadie and Arthur, there is yet another Red Dead Redemption 2 actor who would like to see his character being reprised in the next game in the series, that being Rob Wiethoff, who played John Marston. However, if the story of Marston is closely followed, there are certain tales that could be told about the Scottish Van der Linde gang member. For instance, it could follow the time when John left the gang for a year before the events of Red Dead Redemption 2 pan out, or it could follow the events prior to the epilogue of the game.

Wiethoff himself has said that he would absolutely love to reprise his role as John Marston.

"If they ask me, of course, I will. If they don't, I'm sure it will be a really, really cool, great game, just like the other two... If it were only up to me, in a second."

However, he adds that even if it is not for John Marston, Wiethoff would still love to work with Rockstar Games in the future. "If Rockstar were to call me and say 'We have a role for you that is not [Red Dead Redemption], you're not going to be John Marston.' Big or small, totally different story, I would do it. I would love to do it, I love the work, I love the people." With the possibility of Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon, maybe Rockstar Games will find some use for this talented actor.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
