Recently, it seemed as if Red Dead Redemption 2 developer Rockstar Games had been tease some new Undead Nightmare event for Red Dead Online. This is because of an increased number of dead bodies in Red Dead Online's swamp, as well as one woman found there who looks to be a zombie. With Halloween coming up, it seemed like a real possibility.

Yet, in a recent interview, Rockstar Games practically dashed the hope of a Halloween-themed Undead Nightmare event for Red Dead Online alongside the possibility of single-player DLC for RDR2. Neither are currently in the works at Rockstar, but the developer didn't rule it out as an eventual possibility either. It's worth mentioning, though, that Rockstar was reluctant to confirm the absence of single-player DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5, so it's not a surprise to see this happening with Red Dead Redemption 2.

"It's not something that we're focused on right now," were the exact words from online producer Tarek Hamad. He then elaborated on how Frontier Pursuits is currently the main focus, but that "never say never" was a philisophy for the studio, so "[they'll see have to see where the future goes." As a result, the fun Easter eggs and hints that Red Dead Redemption 2 fans think they found are just that and nothing more.

It may also be worth mentioning that, while Rockstar Games addressed two of the biggest rumors for Red Dead Redemption 2, there's a third it did not. There's no telling if it was intentional or not, but Rockstar Games did not comment on a potential RDR2 PC port, unlike it did with single player DLC and Undead Nightmares.

In short, Rockstar is currently focused on expanding the world of Red Dead Online, choosing to forego any Single-player DLC for it, but also choosing not to include any zombie, Undead Nightmare-like events for Halloween. That's not to say there won't be something for Halloween, as Rockstar prided itself on what it's done in the past, but Undead Nightmares isn't going to be it for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One.
