Rockstar Games reveals the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, which, despite very slim story details, offers up some impressive western visuals.

Earlier this week, after years of anticipation, Rockstar Games officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2. With the RDR2 concept art featuring the silhouettes of seven cowboys and with Rockstar also promising both an "epic" tale as well as a "brand new multiplayer experience," fans have been falling over themselves to predict the content of the game.

Unfortunately, the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer doesn't answer any of fans' most burning questions. The seven cowboys from the concept art appear at one point, galloping on horseback and a voice over says that "when the time comes, you gotta run and don't look back." Sadly though, there are no clues on who those men are nor what they might be running from and it doesn't reveal whether Red Dead Redemption 2 will have two protagonists, as rumored.

What it does show is some very impressive graphics, including a river winding through a valley and the sun peeking through the trees in a forest. The fact that elk and a herd of buffalo are also present suggests that the hunting mechanic from the first game will return too. And, two people are seen rowing a boat, which could mean that sailing (and even swimming) are featured too.

Moreover, the trailer doesn't confirm that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on Nintendo's newly announced console, the Nintendo Switch. Although (Rockstar Games' parent company) Take-Two said that it was 'very interested' in Nintendo's new device, prior to the Switch's announcement, some were doubtful as to whether the company would really release its biggest releases on it. This doesn't mean that RDR2 will never come to the Switch, but seemingly, it won't be available at launch.

It doesn't appear that Red Dead Redemption 2 PC is happening, either. The original Red Dead Redemption was never 'seriously' considered for PC but many thought that with PC gaming being such lucrative market, Rockstar wouldn't pass up the chance to release the sequel on the platform. There is already a petition to bring Red Dead Redemption 2 to PC, so perhaps if this garners enough support, Rockstar will release it on PC after the console launch just like it did with Grand Theft Auto 5.
