While Rockstar Games fans on PC had to wait over a year to get their hands on Red Dead Redemption 2, they won’t have to wait as long to create unique productions within the game’s world. A new report suggests that the Rockstar Editor is coming to Red Dead Redemption 2 and will be available before the year is up.

According to Rockstar Intel, an update to the Red Dead Redemption 2 game files reveals that the Rockstar Editor is on the way. However, the feature won’t be available for the November 5th launch of RDR 2 on PC, but instead fans will have to wait until December when the port releases on Steam.

Rockstar Editor may not be a crucial feature for many PC players, especially those that have just been waiting to play Red Dead Redemption 2 in 4K and 60 FPS, but others have been greatly anticipating its arrival. With Rockstar Editor, creative fans can put together impressive videos that show off just how immersive the world of Rockstar Games’ latest is.

It’s worth pointing out that the Rockstar Editor is not mod tools for Red Dead Redemption 2 – those are expected much later, if at all. Presently, Rockstar Games has only hinted that mod tools might not arrive for Red Dead Redemption 2 but the studio said the same thing about a PC port. The focus is always on the present product and everything else is left for a later conversation.

Chances are if gamers have seen a video of Grand Theft Auto 5 in action on PC then it was created using the Rockstar Editor. Many use the feature to put together quick edits of incredible Grand Theft Auto stunts, ensuring that the angles highlight every tight turn, flip or near-miss.

With Red Dead Redemption 2, there may not be as much potential for crazy stunts but we’re sure that fans will be able to create some impressive videos. The world of RDR 2 on its own is beautiful to behold and even just putting the camera in cinematic mode is a sight to behold.

And, of course, all of that breathtaking visual splendor was only available on console, where the frame rate and resolution are limited. The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to blow the doors off the visuals and allow players to see just how much detail Rockstar Games packed into its world.
