Just a few days ago, Microsoft confirmed that Rockstar Games' forthcoming open world Western title, Red Dead Redemption 2, will have Xbox One X specific enhancements, as well as 4K and HDR support following the game's launch. Of course, not to be outdone, Sony's enhanced console will provide its own set of cutting edge bells and whistles for RDR2, too. With this being the case, a new gameplay analysis video of the PS4 Pro version of the game has been released that breaks down what fans should expect the sequel to look like on the Sony system.

As seen below in Digital Foundry's first look at Red Dead Redemption 2 running on PS4 Pro, the outlet gives a rundown of the title's 4K presentation on the system, declaring that "the animations, the post-effects, lighting and material-work all hold up to scrutiny, even when it's in the player's hands." This should come as supreme news to RDR2 fans and PS4 Pro owners alike, as they will apparently be able to experience top-notch graphics on the console.

For those who may have been out of the loop lately, Digital Foundry's deep dive into the technical side of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 Pro is based on the latest gameplay trailer provided by Rockstar Games, as the studio captured all of the video's footage using the Sony system. So, not only are first-time viewers getting a solid breakdown of how the title will run on the PS4 Pro, but also a detailed look at a portion of the playable content to come.

All things considered, while Digital Foundry's analysis of Red Dead Redemption 2's 4K gameplay provides a wealth of knowledge regarding what can be expected out of the title while running on PlayStation 4 Pro, the best test of quality is undoubtedly a hands-on approach. Thankfully, fans won't have to wait much longer to give the title a go for themselves, as Red Dead Redemption 2 will officially hit store shelves in a little more than a couple of months from now.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
