Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game that gives players the opportunity to break the law on the American frontier whenever they want. However, like in its sister series Grand Theft Auto, the game's open-world setting will occasionally deliver players some fitting karmic punishment. One Red Dead Redemption 2 player was going on a violent shooting spree only to be destroyed by a horse they thought they'd already killed.

Some players form a strong bond with Red Dead Redemption 2's horses to the point of wreaking in-game revenge if something happens to their horse. Others take advantage of the game's mechanics to cause the animals as much pain as the humans.

Reddit user theclownhasnopenis48 shared a short video of a recent playthrough that focuses on known outlaw Arthur Morgan attacking a small group of horses, only one of which appeared to have a rider. At least two other horses were present, both decked out with tack. The video began with Arthur Morgan shooting and then kicking one of the horses into the ground and moving onto the other targets when it stopped moving.

After apparently taking down the first horse, the player directed Arthur to fire at the other two horses, both of which were attempting to flee into a nearby forest. However, soon after he began to pursue the escaping horses, the camera panned around to reveal the horse he'd seemingly killed alive and well. The animal attempted to graze for a moment before lashing out and kicking Arthur Morgan in the head, killing him instantly. This isn't the first time a Red Dead Redemption 2 horse has taken revenge, but it may be one of the most deserved.

As of writing, it appears that other fans are amused by the video. Many users have expressed that the player deserved what happened to them, with others questioning what drove the player to harm the horse in the first place. Not only do many players seem to grow attached to their horses, but Red Dead Redemption 2 depicts horses as large and potentially violent animals, especially if mistreated. Several users, including the original poster, also compared the horse's lethal kick to WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels' iconic superkick, the Sweet Chin Music. One user even went so far as to state that the way the horse oversold Arthur Morgan's assault and then suddenly finished things with a kick reminded them of a Shawn Michaels wrestling match.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
