It's been more than two years since Red Dead Redemption 2 first graced consoles, offering fans a chance to live like a cowboy in one of Rockstar's most ambitious games yet. Red Dead Redemption 2 prides itself on realism, sometimes to a mind-numbing degree, but that makes any absurdity all the more entertaining, be it a bug or a mod that lets players ride giant hogs.

Those that do want to ride through the rolling hills and dense forests of Red Dead Redemption 2 on a large pig, or other equally strange mounts, are in luck— at least on PC. A new mod simply titled "Pig Rider" by JulioNIB on Patreon allows players to use all sorts of exotic mounts to get Arthur Morgan around the map.

The mod features a number of wild critters for Arthur to ride, from giant pigs to a massive cougar and a dog. The models seem to be just sized-up versions of their typical counterparts, so they look a bit lower res, but those looking to ride large wild animals aren't all that likely to care in the first place.

Certainly, this is one of the stranger things players can do to get around the world, but it still isn't a match for vomit roping, a gross glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that allowed players to survive falls by puking their way down a mountain. Still, Pig Rider is a decent way for players to just have some fun in Red Dead's world, which makes the mod worth it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has remained popular since its release, with unsolved mysteries and continuous updates to Red Dead Online drawing players back in regularly. The Pig Rider mod is only available to PC players, but those on console should have no shortage of ways to entertain themselves with the game.

Entertaining mods are sure to keep popping up on PC, just as they did for Grand Theft Auto V. Mods for GTA V added Vice City to the game, along with plenty of other amazing changes, and it seems likely that Red Dead Redemption 2 will get the same support, even if it isn't as popular as Grand Theft Auto.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
