A new mod is out for Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 that lets players take the control of a bird, taking in the scenery from above.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a beautiful game filled with plenty of detail, but it can be difficult to enjoy its beauty when constantly having to deal with the dangers of the game world. This mod gives players a bird's eye view of the world, literally, and provides a more chill experience for the open-world title.

This bird mod turns Red Dead Redemption 2 into a soothing experience, as players are able to swoop into and out of locales without much of a care in the world. The birds can die, if they're shot or if a player hits the ground with them too quickly, but otherwise, this is a stress-free experience. Mod creator jedijosh920 allows players to take control of a variety of birds, as well. Players can take flight as a parrot, an eagle, and plenty more birds as they take flight in the skies above the US.

The birds are remarkably pretty, with an attention of detail to them that would be hard to see in a normal playthrough of the game. On top of that, using the bird mod players can get a glimpse of Mexico, which is only available in the standard Red Dead Redemption 2 via a glitch. Fans believe the normally inaccessible location may be a part of future content, but no one is sure what will be in any upcoming story DLC yet.

What may be most surprising about this mod is that this isn't a PC mod. Red Dead Redemption 2 is only available on the PS4 and Xbox One with no release date for a PC version in sight. Modding on the consoles isn't unheard of, but it's always easier to mod a game on PC. Sony and Microsoft have welcomed mods of high-profile titles on storefronts in the past though, and Read Dead may be one of the highest-profile titles out there, so this sort of console mod isn't too far-fetched.

But hopefully, jedijosh920's bird mod inspires others to make some fun mods in Red Dead Redemption 2. If Skyrim can have a mod adding 30-50 feral hogs, why can't Red Dead get a mod for the next great meme?
