In Red Dead Redemption 2, the protagonist, Arthur Morgan, has a bunch of weapons at his disposal, from small sidearms to long-range rifles. And in the average playthrough, he switches between them regularly.

His allies and adversaries, however, are the opposite. They may use a couple of different guns, but they all have a signature weapon that they utilize the most. In a nice bit of variety, the signature firearm is unique for each of the characters. Some may share a favorite model, but most of them customize it in some form to fit their personality. Here are the distinct weapons that each of the main characters — excluding Arthur Morgan — carry around.

10 Javier Escuella: Double-Action Revolver

Javier posses one of the most stylish looking weapons in the game. It's a silver double-action revolver that is covered in engravings. And the gun also has a round black grip that's visually enhanced with some silver markings. Someone has even altered the barrel to make it a bit longer than the traditional model.

Thankfully, the fanciness of the firearm doesn't make it any less effective as Javier is one of the most dependable fighters in the Van Der Linde Gang.

9 Uncle: Schofield Revolver

Because he tends to avoid doing anything strenuous, it's rare to see Uncle with his firearm out. Although, eagle-eyed players might notice that he carries a custom Schofield revolver for most of the game.

Its got a brass plated frame with a black cylinder, sight, and barrel. And it seems to have a carving on the grip. It's unfortunate that so little is seen of the gun as it looks beautiful.

8 Bill Williamson: Bolt Action Rifle

Bill gets involved in a lot of combat throughout the game. And in most of those firefights, he's wielding a bolt-action rifle.

His preference for rifles over sidearms likely originates from his time in the Army as they commonly favor long-range weaponry. The man isn't completely opposed to handguns, though, as he does also have a custom Schofield revolver, but it usually remains holstered.

7 Hosea Matthews: Twin Cattleman Revolvers

Unlike most of his allies, this clever con-man would rather talk his way out of a situation than resort to violence. Living the outlaw life, though, means even he needs to take up arms at times. And when he does, he makes use of two cattleman revolvers.

Naturally, they're both customized. The identical firearms have light coloring and carvings on the grips, with everything else being made darker than the original model.

6 Agent Milton: Schofield Revolver

The cold Pinkerton detective, Agent Milton, often has cronies do his dirty work. Yet, he still carries around a Schofield revolver in case he needs it. Weirdly though, one of the few times he fires a gun in the game, it's not the revolver he always keeps by his side but a random cattleman one instead - this could've simply been a mistake by the developers.

He's not alone in his appreciation of the Schofield as it's a popular sidearm among the main characters. But unlike the others who wield it, Milton hasn't made any visible alterations to the weapon.

5 Charles: Sawed-Off Shotgun

Charles from Red Dead Redemption 2

Charles' choice of weapon depends on the situation. If he's required to be sneaky, he makes effective use of a bow as well as throwing knives and tomahawks. Although, when running with the Van Der Linde gang, stealth is seldom an option. So, more commonly, he blasts people away with his sawed-off shotgun.

As is customary for the Van Der Linde Gang, Charles has made some alterations to his weapon. He's used a darker varnish on the grip and made the frame black. Regardless of what it looks like, the one-handed firearm packs a punch.

4 Sadie Adler: Carbine Repeater

Sadie Adler from Red Dead Redemption 2

Characters don't get more deadly than Sadie Adler, who's dangerous with any weapon. And it's hard to decipher which is her signature one, as she switches guns more than any other main character — besides Arthur.

She does have an affinity for her custom cattleman revolvers with their iron frames and fancy grips. But she might love her carbine repeater even more. In the single-player, she's customized the semi-automatic firearm by making the frame black and covering it in a leather wrap to keep it in pristine condition.

3 Micah Bell: Micah's Revolvers

Micah might not like other people — a feeling that's mutual — but he loves his revolvers. This is clear when he tricks Arthur into helping him slaughter most of Strawberry just to retrieve his prized guns.

They're a pair of double-action revolvers that are so heavily customized that the game renames them Micah's revolvers. Each grip is red with a black outline of a skull, whereas the rest of the sidearm is dark grey. As a finishing touch, Micah has carved the words, "Vengeance is hereby mine" on one of the barrels.

2 John Marston: John's Cattleman Revolver

John is another character whose weapon is named after him. Although, his firearm is a cattleman revolver that looks a lot like the two Hosea carries. The whole frame is dark grey, which is well complemented by the light bone grip.

Marston has either had the gun for a long time or doesn't take care of it properly, as it looks extremely worn. With the state it's in, it's no surprise the weapon is no longer around several years later when John works for the Government.

1 Dutch Van Der Linde: Twin Schofield Revolvers

Virtually every time Dutch charges into a firefight or initiates a heist, he's holding his custom Schofield revolvers. The only occasion he uses anything else in RDR2 is when he's stuck in Guarma without access to his fancy shooters.

The twin handguns have dark steel frames that are adorned with beautiful golden engravings. And the addition of the pearl grips makes both revolvers look even more stunning. It's unclear what happens to the sidearms, as by 1911, Dutch has switched to a semi-automatic pistol.
