In Red Dead Online, there are three more Legendary Bucks for people to find. These are the Mudrunner, Snow, and Shadow Bucks.

The Legendary Buck

The Legendary Buck from RDR2's story mode is in Big Valley just to the south of Black Bone Forest. For those that do not have the zone unlocked, it is North of the Owanjila Dam and South of the B in Big Valley on the map. As soon as the character gets close enough to the spawn area, the Buck will appear on the map with a crown on its head. People will know they are in the zone once the Legendary Animal message pops up on the top left of the screen.

Basic Strategy

Once players are in the area, there are a few different things they will need to do to find and lure the Buck in. First, hunters should use Eagle Eye to identify the first clue, which will glow orange while the ability is active. A path will appear after the first clue is found that leads to the next. After following the path to the second and third clues, the blue path will take gamers to the Legendary Buck.

At this point, people will want to put on Cover Scent Lotion to mask their smell and look around for the Buck. Legendary Bucks are huge and will be easy to spot during the daytime. As soon as the Buck is spotted, players should use Deadeye and place careful shots in the red areas with a sniper. With a fully upgraded rifle, it will take two shots to the head to bring the Legendary Buck down.

Legendary Loot

The Buck can be skinned for a Legendary pelt. It will drop a Legendary Buck Antler as well. These items are necessary if gamers want to get the Trophy Buck Outfit, and the Legendary Buck Antler will help them acquire the Legendary Buck Trinket.

The Shadow Buck is the easiest of the three to find. Anyone that has reached Naturalist rank 5 can just select the Shadow Buck quest from Harriet and follow the steps to find and kill the legendary animal. The other two Legendary Buck are true free-roaming creatures that need to be tracked down and hunted. Each of these free roam legendaries has a particular area they like to spawn, as well as a preferred type of weather and time of day. Don't worry about Harriet's items, they are essentially useless.

Hunters will want to have a rifle equipped with Express ammo before they get on their horse and set out. Explosive and fire ammunition should never be used, as it will ruin the pelt/skin and other loot.

Mud Runner Buck

Players will run into the Mud Runner Buck all across the Heartlands. It has been seen as far east as Lemoyne and as far west as Flatneck Station. This is quite a large area to search. Mud Runner Bucks prefer clear weather and like to roam the map between 9 am and 6 pm in-game. The best strategy to find the Buck is to ride along the main roads in the heartlands and look out for the yellow question mark on the map. As soon as it pops up, hunters can ride to it and take the Buck down with Deadeye. The Buck's pelt and antlers can be turned in to Gus to unlock the Mud Runner Hood and Coat. The outfit will cost $220.50.

Snow Buck

The legendary Snow Bucks like to graze around the Aurora Basin and Lower Montana River in Tall Trees. Although, they have been seen toward the Manzanita Post. Snow Bucks have even been found close to the Upper Montana River. Snow Bucks also like clear weather, but they only hang around between 6 am and 9 am in-game. Those that want to find this legendary must start their search as soon as the clock hits 6 am.

When searching for the Snow Buck, the proper strategy is to ride along the Aurora Basin south and continue along the Lower Montana. If that doesn't work, riding back north further inland should reveal the animal's location. Using the same strategies as above, the Buck will fall after a couple of critical hits to the red zones. If players sell the skinned loot to Gus, they will be able to purchase the Snow Hood and Coat for $329.70.
