The massive open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of strange and dangerous people. A trip to the swamps at night will see players likely encounter the terrifying Night Folk, for example, and there have also been reports of ghost trains and UFOs. However, some terrors in the game aren't of the supernatural variety, and represent very real horrors, like the racist terrorist organization the Ku Klux Klan.

As it turns out, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can find Ku Klux Klan members gathering in the woods at various areas in the game, where they are portrayed as buffoons. If players sit and watch the KKK complete their ceremonies, they will see them accidentally light each other on fire with their torches or crush themselves with their crosses. Some players may want to attack the KKK members, but may be worried about how such an assault will impact their honor rating.

Usually in Red Dead Redemption 2, killing people will lower one's honor rating, especially if Arthur is the first to open fire. However, that isn't the case with the KKK. In fact, killing the KKK in Red Dead Redemption 2 actually raises Arthur's honor rating in the game. The only exception is if a KKK member escapes from the firefight and reports Arthur's crime to local authorities, at which point he will be wanted for murder and will have a bounty placed on his head.

Of course, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can raise their honor rating without killing KKK members. In fact, there are many ways to raise Arthur's honor in the game, like sparing peoples' lives and helping distressed strangers on the road. Alternatively, players can cheese the honor rating system by spamming friendly greetings to people they meet in the game world, which has shown to be a great way to raise Arthur's honor with minimal effort.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if players discover other unique elements in the game that impact the honor rating like the KKK encounter does.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
