Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a world full of smaller details that have been carefully considered and crafted by the developers at Rockstar Games. While most players should see a lot of what the game has to offer the first time through, there are plenty of details, sequences, and scenes that may be overlooked unless they know exactly what to look for.

One scene that seems to have slipped by some Red Dead Redemption 2 players involves John Marston and Abigail. As shared on Reddit, if John and Abigail stand idle by each other for a certain amount of time they will eventually share a tender moment.

According to the player who shared the image on the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit, they don't know how to recreate the scene. They were only able to go back through a recording of their prior gameplay and share a screenshot to show that it's real.

While this moment is far smaller, there are some other touching moments between John and his wife Abigail if players choose to go to sleep while she is in the bed. Although the two characters are oftentimes at odds during the Red Dead Redemption 2 epilogue, these types of scenes show how much they truly care for each other. Even while idle (the player isn't moving the controller), there is programming built in their AI to have John and Abigail show their affection for one another.

Idle animations are, of course, nothing new for video games and Red Dead Redemption 2 seemingly has a ton of them. There are so many different moments that players can catch within the game it's staggering. Even nearly two years later, there are still details like this being shared online, and many players saying that they never knew such an occurrence was possible.

Another example of this features little Jack Marston (Abigail and John's son) tickling Uncle's nose while he is asleep. It's not a major moment in the grand scheme of the Western epic, but it does help breathe life into the Van Der Linde gang by making each member feel like a real person.

The same is true for the aforementioned moment with John and Abigail, and for any who are familiar with their history, it shows a lot more than some may initially pick up on. Rockstar was bold enough to include an epilogue to Red Dead Redemption 2 that connects the events of the second game with the first and also further fleshes out characters that fans know so well.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
