Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of gameplay systems that affect your experience and one of these is the honor system. The honor system tracks how bad or good Arthur Morgan's actions are, giving players certain benefits for being a hero or a very bad guy.

Some of the benefits of having high honor in Red Dead Redemption 2 including getting discounts on goods in stores. There are also certain outfits (such as The Gambler) which are locked and unavailable for purchase unless players have high honor. As such, it may be in player's best interests to be on their best behavior.

There are lots of ways that players can earn honor in the game including helping out strangers, not looting bodies of innocent people, and performing tasks at camp. But, players can also cheese their way to getting high honor, just by being polite.

One of the easiest ways for players to earn honor in the game is to just spam the greet option. When passing NPCs either in town or when Arthur is walking around or out traveling on his horse, players have the ability to target them and choose from several dialogue options. These include the ability to antagonize, rob and greet. After players have greeted a number of NPCs (roughly between 5-10), they'll see the good honor icon (a plus sign with a little image of a cowboy) pop-up on screen.

In testing, there seems to be no limit to the honor that players can earn by greeting NPCs en masse. As such, it makes sense to go into heavily populated areas and just greet every NPC in sight. Saloons are one of the best locations for this (there are more people at night, especially) but players could just as easily stand in the middle of a town like Rhodes and greet everyone who goes past. In testing, it doesn't seem to work within the van der Linde camp but most other places with NPCs should be fair game. You can also greet NPCs multiple times.

Other easy methods for increasing honor includes going fishing and throwing smaller fish back into the water instead of stashing them in Arthur's inventory. Players can also donate money at camp but this could quickly get expensive. Whatever players end up doing, increasing your honor isn't too tricky and it doesn't have to be a massive grind, either.
