After Rockstar released a new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, fans began to trip all over themselves to search for hidden clues and bits of information about its characters and its gameplay. But some eagle-eyed viewers have also discovered some information (possibly too much information) about the game's wildlife.

In one scene of the new trailer, one of the game's characters can be seen steadily traveling along on horseback. As Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game about cowboys riding on horseback, it's important for the steeds to look great. But on closer inspection, viewers can see that Rockstar has actually included horse testicle physics in the game, as the horse's reproductive organs seem to swing as it moves.

Naturally, the discovery sparked a lot of discussion among the game's fans. Plenty made jokes about Rockstar taking the time to include this in the game, and that the search history of the animation and programming teams must be pretty interesting. The fact that someone got paid to create that system has also been the punchline to many jokes.

But others said that the animated horse testicles only got them more excited for the game. Horse testicles may not be a genre-defining feature, but it indicates major things about the attention that Rockstar has paid to the game's wildlife system this time around.

While it has yet to be confirmed, it seems quite likely that Red Dead Redemption 2 will bring back the hunter-gatherer system introduced in the predecessor and a previous trailer also showed a herd of buffalo moving together. If Rockstar has animated every bit of the animals - from their reproductive organs to their behavior - it could make the mechanic all the more fun to interact with.

Many are also glad to see that Red Dead Redemption 2 offers that Rockstar combination of incredibly serious narrative moments with more sillier examples. Rockstar has already taken inspired for its game from a Brad Pitt cowboy movie and fans know that train robbery will be on the cards (in some capacity at least).

There are also arguments in saloons, run-ins with the law and all of the violence and crimes that go with being an outlaw. But if the horse testicles are anything to go by, Rockstar will give players the chance to laugh a lot too, even if it's over the smallest things. Hopefully, more of these moments will be revealed ahead of launch.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released in spring 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One.
