The wild west world of Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to offer its player base an incredibly immersive gameplay experience. Not only can players experience the beautiful landscape of the bayou, and old buildings of dusty towns, but they can also expect a touch of reality through the animals found within the action adventure game. Recently, a new player shared their first death experience in Red Dead Redemption 2, showcasing just how true to life the title can be, by getting kicked in the head by an NPC’s horse.

Most fans are likely to agree that horses are one of the best features in the Red Dead Redemption series. More so in RDR2, where a player’s horse becomes a very important companion, taking them from area to area, and even providing a surprising twist in the game’s main narrative. However, relationships with Red Dead Redemption 2 horses are not to be taken lightly, even if the horse does not belong to the main playable character.

Reddit user jfrawley28 recently shared that they had just purchased the game, and experienced their first death ever as Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan. In the clip, the player can be seen getting into a fight with a random NPC that had been chasing him. The confrontation ultimately led to jfrawley28 shooting the NPC to death. However, the NPC’s horse seemed to be having none of it, and swiftly dealt vengeance for its owner’s demise by kicking jfrawley28’s character in the head. Assuming that the player had only just begun the game, and had no life bar or health upgrades yet, the horse’s kick dealt enough damage to instantly kill them.

On the Reddit thread, many users who saw the clip were encouraged to share their own Red Dead Redemption 2 misadventures, whether about their in-game horses or not. Most of the replies pointed out that it is easy to make mistakes in the game, as the buttons prompts can sometimes overlap. This means that players can easily shoot down another NPC, when they were simply trying to interact with them.

Needless to say, the Red Dead Redemption 2 fanbase seems to always find something fun and amusing to share with their fellow players. With no news of a Red Dead Redemption 3 in the works, even if the game’s voice actors themselves seem to be excited about the idea, fans will have to resort to finding humorous ways to keep playing the already available titles as a way to pass the time.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
