Updated October 29th, 2023, by Christopher Norman Worcester: There is little doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2, even years after its initial release, remains one of the most popular single-player adventure games available. Because of this, Game Rant will always look at ways to improve the RDR2 guides that players rely on the most. This update adds a video guide to the High Stakes Treasure Map 3 solution, one of the game's trickiest treasure maps.

Solving Red Dead Redemption 2's High Stakes Treasure Maps is a great way for players to pickup a veritable bounty of Gold. That said, while the solutions to some of these maps are quite straightforward, that is not the case for absolutely all of them. In particular, Red Dead Redemption 2's High Stakes Treasure Map 3 may leave some fans scratching their heads, as the drawing featured upon it is a bit opaque in its instructions.

Red Dead Redemption 2: High Stakes Treasure Map 3 Location

To solve High Stakes Treasure Map 3 in Red Dead Redemption 2, players should start by making their way northeast from Fort Wallace. A short way from this Fort, fans will discover a path that heads north toward the nearby river and into the mountains. It is this path that RDR2 players should follow, and here is a map marking its location for those that prefer a visual reference:

As the path draws near to the river, it will pass straight through two rocky peaks, and players should now dismount their horses in Red Dead Redemption 2 to prepare for the rest of their journeys. They should then go left and follow the narrow path that runs along the cliff face, opting to navigate up a slight incline when it appears. When this sloping path terminates, fans will need to drop down three times, turning 180 degrees after the first and second drops, to reach a brand new path.

Just like the previous path, this new one is quite narrow, and players should take extra care to not fall into the river below. After a short walk, fans will find that they must duck under a rock to advance, and indeed the location of High Stakes Treasure Map 3's treasure is just on the other side of this formation. More specifically, Arthur Morgan will be able to reach has hands into a crevice on the cliff face, and he will be clutching three Gold Bars when he pulls them out.

Upon solving RDR2's High Stakes Treasure Map 3, players will have one thing left to do, and that is figure out how to get down from the bluff that they now find themselves standing upon. For those fans that are not adverse to using fast travel in Red Dead Redemption 2, that may be the best option, as it is both safe and quick. Indeed, players that turn to fast travel will be swiftly transported to their preferred location, and they can then proceed to spend the Gold that they have just earned if they wish to.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
