A Red Dead Redemption 2 player has noticed an incredible piece of story foreshadowing right at the beginning of Rockstar's Western epic. While Red Dead Redemption 2's story is already known to be one of the most tragic video game stories ever made, this small detail could add some impact to the early game, too.

Five years since the game was first released to players, it seems as though gamers are noticing a lot about its story lately. Another Red Dead Redemption 2 player noticed a tragic story detail after seven playthroughs recently, showing just how much care and attention was given to the game by Rockstar. It just seems that there's no end to what can be discovered by the community. At this point, the details are getting small and smaller, but that only makes their inclusion all the more impressive on the developer's part.

This Red Dead Redemption 2 detail was noticed by Redditor Agitated_Ebb_5355, who pointed out that during the first train robbery, players can see where the final mission in the game takes place in the distance, the area that would see the final standoff between John, Micah, and Dutch. It's a perfect bit of foreshadowing that players would never think twice about during a first playthrough. Once a player has seen it though, it's impossible to unsee.

Gamers in the thread were appreciative of such a full-circle moment. Of course, there's always a chance that this find is just a coincidence - after all, every mission has to take place somewhere on the map. However, given the level of detail in Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has more than earned the benefit of the doubt to presume that this is an intentional inclusion by the developer. It certainly seems right in line with something the studio would include.

These are definitely the kind of story details that players love to see in Rockstar titles. They set games from the studio apart from the rest, bringing a unique level of quality that's unseen anywhere else. With the upcoming GTA 6, the developer has the opportunity to create a game that will keep gamers hooked for many years to come, in the same way that GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 did before it. Sadly though, it seems Red Dead Redemption 3 is some way away, with work on the sequel not likely to begin until the next iteration of the Grand Theft Auto franchise is finally released.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
