Like with all of Rockstar's expansive open-world video games, the vast surroundings of Red Dead Redemption 2 provide adventuresome desperados with a number of different activities that truly allow players to engage themselves in the life of an outlaw on the fringes of the wild American frontier. Best of all, the acclaimed action-adventure title actively rewards the most persistent and exploratory of players with some interesting Red Dead Redemption references and Easter egg items.

From flat caps to stovepipe top hats, there are plenty of different fashionable cowboy accessories that protagonist Arthur Morgan can wear while on his journey through the American Old West. But for players who desire to mix it up a bit, there is a strange Red Dead Redemption 2 cosmetic item that can be added to the in-game wardrobe, free of charge. This is the secret medieval knight helmet that is hidden near the outer bounds of the map.

Where to Find the Medieval Knight Helmet in RDR2

For this daring adventure to discover the "Morion Helmet," Arthur must first find the thickest clothing items available from the various tailors and general stores throughout Red Dead Redemption 2. This is because the Morion Helmet can only be found in the Northwest top of Mount Hagen on the Frozen Settler, right by a rock carving that is just within the vicinity of Micah's Hideout.

One of the more well-known peaks in the snowy Grizzlies of Ambarino, Mount Hagen is legendary in the community for being a bitter, unpredictable region with snowcapped slopes and narrow steppes. Therefore, as previously mentioned, garments labeled as “very warm” rather than “slightly warm” will provide much support when combatting the harsh environment of Red Dead Redemption 2.

How To Claim the Medieval Knight Helmet

For outlaws who manage to overcome the odds, they will discover a frozen conquistador who remains dormant at the top of the mountain. Just one of Red Dead Redemption 2's extraordinary snowy Easter eggs, players can approach the decaying corpse and puck the Morion Helmet from its cold, peeling skull. Once in the inventory, it can be equipped and worn to differentiate Arthur Morgan from the other cowpokes that decorate the map.

It's been nearly three years since the game hit store shelves, and Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to surprise fans with its many lesser-known Easter eggs that are waiting to be discovered.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
