Several weeks ago, the the box art for Red Dead Redemption 2’s PlayStation 4 Pro bundle revealed that the forthcoming open world western title's game file will take up a huge amount of space on the PS4 with a minimum install size of 105 GB being required. Now, the Xbox One version of the Rockstar Games release has had its file size confirmed thanks to an official listing online through the Microsoft Store.

According to Red Dead Redemption 2's home page on the Microsoft Store, Xbox One players will need to have approximately 88.57 GB cleared out in order for the game to run on the current gen console. With this being the case, fans looking forward to the title might want to start freeing up some storage soon, as RDR2 is set to officially hit store shelves in a little over a week from now.

While some may argue that the aforementioned file sizes of the PS4 version's 105 GB and the Xbox One iteration's 88.57 GB seem a bit unwieldy, it's worth noting that these could just be a suggested amount of space that players will want to keep clear for Red Dead Redemption 2. After all, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was initially reported as having a massive Day One update, which then resulted in the first-person shooter only taking up about 55 GB in total.

Taking all of this into consideration, there's a possibility that the listing for Red Dead Redemption 2's file size on Xbox One could change between now and its release at the end of this month. So, with this being the case, we will simply have to be patient and see just how big Rockstar's gunslinging western will be. Thankfully, players won't have to wait too much longer before they can get their hands on a copy of the game and find out.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
