A Red Dead Redemption 2 player has discovered some new hidden dialogue, that can only be activated while playing as an overweight Arthur Morgan. The customization in Red Dead Redemption 2 is unmatched, and it goes to show how Rockstar has considered how players will choose to customize their protagonist.

Prior to the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, there was plenty of skepticism about the character of Arthur Morgan. John Marston was already one of the most beloved video game protagonists of all time, and it was hard to see how Rockstar would live up to him. Post-release, everything changed. Arthur's story won over fans immediately, and he's now every bit as revered as John Marston. It's great to see that even in 2023, there are more layers of this character to unveil.

Redditor PostEvery1333 posted about the detail, which shows off Arthur during the hot air balloon mission, "Icarus and Friends." As Arthur ascends into the clouds, the balloonist remarks, "A slightly slower ascent than normal, but we're carrying some weight," and refers to them both as "Two gentlemen with a healthy appetite." This isn't a part of the normal dialogue in this mission, and only occurs when Red Dead Redemption 2's protagonist is overweight. The weight system in the game was critiqued by fans when the game was first released, but this amazing dialogue shows how it can be used to actually improve the experience.

Gamers in the thread were genuinely flabbergasted by the discovery. In a later comment, PostEvery1333 pondered how much players miss just by being a certain weight. It does seem as though Rockstar thought of everything, so it would be no surprise if there were plenty more moments like this littered throughout the story. Interestingly, this discovery comes after the recent trend, where Red Dead Redemption 2 players were seeing how chunky they can make Arthur. It seems this has paid off, as these players move through their playthroughs.

The attention to detail in Red Dead Redemption 2 is second to none, and Rockstar will have to outdo itself if it is to innovate in Red Dead Redemption 3. Every player has their own idea about what a sequel to the game should look like, but it will likely be some time before players ever find out for sure. Rockstar has set the bar, and it's extremely high. If the studio can at least match it with the upcoming GTA 6, then there will be some hope that Rockstar will be able to live up to the high expectations that currently exist.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
