Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best-selling games of 2019 so far, despite launching in late 2018, which could be a sign that fans are hungry for more. Now, an anonymous Redditor claims to have got his hands on some information concerning DLC for the western-themed action-adventure game, including who players will control, story content information, and the potential release window. This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for any who haven't yet beaten Red Dead Redemption 2.

Before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that most leaks live or die by their source. This Redditor, who created a throwaway account for the sole purposes of this post, claims to have a friend who works at Rockstar as an environmental artist that revealed this information to him. In other words, this is a secondhand leak that any Red Dead Redemption 2 fan could have easily made up, so everything should be taken with the appropriate grain of salt.

The leaker claims that the Red Dead Redemption 2 story DLC is currently about midway through development, and that, somehow, players will take control of Arthur in this DLC. This likely means that the events will take place prior to Arthur's death, but to make it a little stranger, the story content is reportedly going to revolve around aliens.

To support this claim, the Redditor brings up the Red Dead Redemption 2 Alien UFO Easter egg, suggesting that it was a hint for the forthcoming DLC (the UFO can be seen in the video below around the 6:30 mark). It's also worth mentioning that cowboys and aliens aren't an altogether unique mythos, so it would be interesting to see Rockstar explore this somehow. Again, this information should be taken lightly, at least until something official is confirmed by Rockstar.

Finally, the leaker states that this DLC is scheduled to release in Q1 2020, so if it were to be true, then we will likely hear about it sooner rather than later. The leaker then also goes on to say that a Red Dead Redemption Remake is currently in the works, complete with dialogue connecting the two games and a release date of late 2020.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
