Red Dead Redemption 2 was a highly anticipated sequel and the vast majority of players have been impressed by its gameplay and longevity. The critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 offered players a lengthy campaign that followed Arthur Morgan in the Wild West as he wrestles with morality. However, it seems that some of the adventures of Arthur and Dutch were cut short and the actors behind the characters, Roger Clark and Benjamin Byron Davis, have shed some light on a mission that never made the cut.

Despite a significant playtime and online content in Red Dead Redemption 2, it seems that developer Rockstar Games was careful about what made it into the game. Clark and Davis discussed what elements they had worked on that had not appeared in the game and while it is unclear exactly where this mission would have fit, it will likely have players wishing that they got to experience what sounds like an action-filled adventure.

In an interview, Clark discussed a mission that did not feature in Red Dead Redemption 2, "There was one that got cut that was kind of fun where we take out some Boston bounty hunters on a train." While players did have train based missions and could even hijack one on their own time, the prospect of taking on Bounty Hunters in this kind of setting would have likely pleased players. The actor who played Dutch, Benjamin Byron Davis, went on to explain how Rockstar Games works in terms of creating, keeping, and cutting content, "We spent a lot of time on that. That was going to be ... oh, I hate that that got cut. It got cut because I guess they couldn't get it up to snuff." Despite some disappointment in the mission not being featured, after what seems to be a lengthy creation process, Davis concluded, "I do my best not to want what I don't have. I don't know that I need another mission with Arthur and Dutch."

In the same interview, Benjamin Byron Davis explained that he was thrilled to return to the franchise with a bigger role. Dutch had some of the best quotes in Red Dead Redemption 2, and as a result, it is unsurprising that Davis enjoyed reprising the role. The actors behind Arthur and Dutch are evidently passionate about this project and it seems to have translated into the final product as many found the story compelling. So much so, that many players want even more content.

Players have been frustrated with the lack of new Red Dead 2 content of late and many are now hoping that it is because Rockstar Games are developing a large update for the game. Some players will hope to see Arthur and Dutch again in a mission like the one that was cut if an update to the campaign arrives, while others would enjoy seeing brand new content in the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
