A gamer online has discovered a Red Dead Redemption 2 trick that allows them to cheat death. There are plenty of tricks in Red Dead Redemption 2 that players can use to enhance the experience of the game, but this one could be considered a little bit cheesy.

Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most versatile open worlds ever created, giving players almost total freedom to do what they want in this rendition of the Wild West. In many cases, the cost of this freedom is that players are able to do what shouldn't be humanly possible, and that is certainly what is on display in this video.

Redditor Finn_Flame showed off the amazing trick online, which they described as a "get out of jail free card." In the clip, they begin sliding down a mountain with their horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. There's no doubt about it - it looks bleak for the duo. Rather than allow themselves to fall to their death, the player instead goes into the wheel menu and sets up a camp. This instantly teleports them to this camp, saving both of their lives. Due to the way camps work in Red Dead Redemption 2, this wouldn't activate in every scenario, but it's certainly worth a try if things aren't looking too good.

Many in the thread were disappointed that they didn't choose to ride out the situation, even if meant meeting a brutal end at the hands of gravity. There are many tragic ways to die in Red Dead Redemption 2, and had this clip met its natural conclusion, it definitely would have joined that list. The technique itself did not go underappreciated though, with one user describing it as the "cleverest thing I have ever seen in this game." There are certainly some valid uses. It's easy to become connected to a horse in Red Dead Redemption 2, and having that ripped away because of a mountain fall is painful. This would provide the perfect solution in that scenario.

At this point, a trick like this is very unlikely to be patched out of the game by Rockstar. It seems as though a Red Dead Redemption 2 next-gen upgrade may never happen, and if that is how disinterested the studio is in updating the game, then it's unlikely that small glitches will continue to receive fixes in the future. Hopefully, Red Dead Redemption 3 doesn't take too long to release so that players can get access to a new and updated version of the Wild West.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
