Although Red Dead Redemption 2 is a story about Arthur Morgan, the game's narrative is also about Arthur's place in the Van der Linde gang. As such, players will see a lot of the other gang members throughout the game, going on missions alongside them, and learning more about their personalities.

It's these personalities that developer Rockstar Games has chosen to highlight with the latest reveal of Red Dead Redemption 2 character art. Every 30 minutes, Rockstar is tweeting out a new piece of character art. This includes several notable members such as Dutch Van der Linde, Pearson, Micah Bell, Charles Smith, Bill Williamson, and Javier Escuela.

There are even new pieces of character art for John Marston, his son Jack, and his wife, Abigail Roberts. It had already been confirmed that John Marston features alongside his family in Red Dead Redemption 2, but this may indicate that Marston is a more significant presence in the new game than previously thought.

While the new pieces of Red Dead Redemption 2 character art are stunning, they also tell fans a little bit about the characters' personalities. For instance, Charles Smith says, "The amount of hell we've raised, we're owed some back," suggesting that for him, the actions of the Van der Linde gang are about revenge, and not just for thrills. Molly O'Shea's comments that "You're playing a dangerous game" suggest that she is none too impressed about some of the gang's antics.

Fans have also raised an eyebrow about Micah Bell's character art quote: "I believe there's winners and losers...and nothing else besides." Bell may just be speaking about the gang there, and that he hopes he and his fellow gang members will succeed and triumph against the law. However, some fans have taken it to mean that Micah Bell is focused on number one and that he may end up betraying the gang.

As well as potential story clues, some are also taking this as a sign that a new trailer is right around the corner. The debut gameplay trailer was just the first in a series of new Red Dead Redemption 2 videos, Rockstar confirmed, meaning that fans could be getting another trailer focused on the gang and its members soon.

Whatever the character art does or doesn't mean, most are just glad to get know the members of the Van der Linde gang a little better. Through Red Dead Redemption 2's camp morale system, players will spend a significant amount of time interacting with the gang members and considering their needs, so it's nice to see who they will be catering to before the game launches.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018.
