Though Rockstar's action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption 2 is approaching its second anniversary this year, small details baked into the experience like protagonist Arthur Morgan's eyes dilating in different light levels are still being discovered by players. Yet there are also plenty of unintended events being discovered too, like Arthur proving himself to be Force-sensitive by bashing a man's head in without touching him.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 gif uploaded by Reddit user Rooonaldooo99 to the r/Gaming subreddit earlier today is quite clearly showing a glitch rather than a feature, but that hasn't stopped the Internet from taking the idea and running with it. As of this writing, about seven hours after it was uploaded, the post has garnered over 45,000 upvotes and nearly 300 comments discussing the possibilities of crossing the Red Dead and Star Wars universes.

The rules around force powers are wildly inconsistent in Star Wars games, so Arthur's brutal hands-off kill could easily be seen as something expected from a character like Starkiller in The Force Unleashed. It's a fun thought experiment, even though the glitch is likely just the result of the game's combat coming into contact with the hitbox around a nearby barrel.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been an incredibly successful game, selling nearly 30 million copies — twice as much as the original Red Dead Redemption. Its immense presence in the gaming landscape has certainly justified the title's seven-year development cycle according to Vulture's 'making of' article from October 2018.

However, even with all of that development time, there were bound to be plenty of bugs and issues scattered throughout the game, as one should expect from anything with as many moving parts as this. Red Dead Online has faced ridicule for its frequent crashes for instance, but that does not necessarily take away from the visual and narrative achievements within Rockstar's games.

The top comment on the Reddit post by user Jira-Kazi jokes that Rooonaldooo99's video is a sneak peek at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Western movies have always been an influence for the Star Wars franchise so the idea would fit, and with Respawn Entertainment reportedly working on Jedi: Fallen Order 2 it would certainly be fun to see that series take a page from an open-world game like Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
