Many Red Dead Online fans are aware of the many different types of interactions they can possibly come across in the game. While most of it is in part of the serious competitive nature of the game, there are plenty of moments of funny pranks within Red Dead Online as well.

One of the many features players have is to pet domestic cats in Red Dead Online, which actually started as a Change.org petition back in the day. In part to add to the realism of the Wild West setting and to also make it fair to the cat fans in the world since there was previously only an option to pet dogs.

Sadly, the wild west is not without its heartaches. Yesterday, a Reddit user by the name of "aker_dood" decided to play the game to his wife, who is an avid fan of cats, and show her how to pet the cats. Then, another troll player in Red Dead Online decided to ruin the moment by shooting the cat in front of the wife as she was about to pet it.

In the video shared by the husband from the wife's point of view, she immediately decided to jump the culprit without any hesitation, punching him into the dirt. Just as it looked like the troll was going to defeat the wife in a fist fight, the husband comes in just in time, like a knight in shining armor, and shoots him in the head. The husband then called for his wife to get on her horse and flee the scene of the crime.

Other Reddit users took to the comments to share similar stories, stating how it can take away from the experience. One user recalled a time where they were minding their own business and petting a dog in Black Water when they were sniped in the head by another player. Some spoke of the unspoken rule in Red Dead Online to never hurt any of the cats and dogs in the game, which other gamers like to ignore for the sake of a joke and apologized to the wife for the negative experience.

Many praised the wife and husband combo for the almost cinematic-like clip of the savior couple. Another user even expressed interest in a YouTube series of a married couple's shenanigans in Red Dead Online. Hopefully, the couple can keep enjoying their experience online and can pet as many cats and dogs to their heart's extent.

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
