For those living the frontier life in Red Dead Online, special crafting rewards are available. Rockstar Games announces it is celebrating makers who are willing to experiment in Red Dead Online.

In today's industry, Rockstar's online title stands on its own for a western world full of detail. Cowpokes can ride horses, go fishing, and even posse up to take down gang hideouts. Since consumables can be costly, crafting is a way to get items without throwing down hard-earned cash.

Fortunately, players of all interests can take part in the celebration. Whether a cook, chemist, or hunter, Rockstar has its maker community covered. Just by taking a load off and crafting at the campfire, folks will receive 3 Collectibles, which they can sell to the secretive Madam Nazar for a fistful of dollars. But that is not all, as Red Dead Online's Gus is getting in on the festivities. By crafting in his store, gamers can earn a free hat and 50% off some mighty fine boots.

If looking to recoup some of the money spent, make sure to grab a crafting pamphlet. Upon purchasing each one comes with a treasure map, an easy way of refilling that empty wallet. Fans of hunting will be able to access some extra benefits through Gus Macmillan's store too. Crafted clothing has a 40% discount throughout the celebration. Even trinkets and bow variants will be cheaper, coming in at 30% off the normal cost.

Sadly, Red Dead Online is an experience which sees little love from Rockstar Games. Despite Red Dead Redemption 2 launching to great reviews, the online struggles to live up. It is nice to see that there is a new update for fans, even if it is minor. Crafting is something that most players will likely perform to some degree, so any extra benefits are icing. Plus, with how difficult it can be for new players to accumulate money, discounts are a welcome addition.

However, most who still log in will likely find this update paltry. While Rockstar's other multiplayer Grand Theft Auto Online sees major expansions, Red Dead Online gets a free hat and options for cheap clothing. No doubt many cowpokes will wonder if a crafting celebration is really necessary when player housing options are missing. When one thinks of the wild west, playing dress up does not typically come to mind. It is strange that Rockstar continues to offer benefits for clothing, which while fun, does not really capture the spirit. In any case, aspiring makers will want to log in for the benefits during this update.

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
