Rockstar Games released Red Dead Online to accompany Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2018 and since then, the online mode has failed to capture the same audience that Grand Theft Auto Online has. Now many of the remaining Red Dead Online players are upset with the July 2022 update which seems to underwhelm many players that have been anticipating an end to a long content drought. As of tomorrow, Red Dead Online players have waited a full year for an update to their online action adventure and many of them are eulogizing the game online because of the lack of content in the July 2022 patch. The last big update to Red Dead Online was last year's Blood Money which introduced Guido Martelli and several corresponding crime missions that players could group up with each other in order to complete, as well as a currency called Capitale which was used on new items. Unlike the Blood Money update, the July 2022 patch doesn't change much of the online experience, nor does it add content for players to explore as they wait for the next one.RELATED: Red Dead Online Player Tormented by Relentless ElkYouTube content creator PVP Cat has compiled a brief list of things Red Dead Online players can expect from the July 2022 update that is almost entirely composed of discounts. Fans will receive discounts on all types of ammo, gun belts, role outfits, role horses, holsters, a fast travel post for their camp, all throwable weapons that can be purchased at Fence, many clothing options, and finally, all the multi-class horses. Just like with previous patches to the game, players can claim free Red Dead Online rewards like outfits at the Tailor in order to alter the appearance of their cowboy if they're short on in-game currency.[EMBED_YT]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AowIA-hfk5w&t=278s&ab_channel=PVPCat[/EMBED_YT]Rockstar Games is offering extra RDO$ and XP on some challenges and is also giving fans some free goodies including dynamite, Gravesend Bolas, Splint Point Rifle Ammo, and Incendiary Buckshot with the July 2022 update. One quality of life feature being added to Red Dead Online with the July 2022 patch is the ability to claim all free outfit pieces at once rather than having to log in every week to get each article at a time. Although many fans are anticipating a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade, it remains unconfirmed by Rockstar Games and still leaves existing players with little to do if they've explored what the game has had to offer over the last year.

Some Red Dead Online fans are frustrated with Rockstar given the fact that GTA Online has been getting regular updates compared to the western-themed online experience in addition to an expansion that featured Dr. Dre. Considering Red Dead Online has an average of 5,000 concurrent players, this number may see a decline given how many players have agreed to perform a funeral for the online game. While it's currently unclear what's coming to Red Dead Online next, a release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S may give the community a boost like GTA Online with the RP servers on PC.

Red Dead Online is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
