As players begin their journeys through Red Dead Online, the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2, they are greeted by an elaborate character creation tool, which allows them to sculpt (or mangle) the character that they will take into the game's open world. However, after spending some time in New Hanover and beyond, some players may wish to change their character's appearance — unfortunately, the options for doing so are limited.

For players that want to give their character a new look, changes to their teeth, hair style and facial hair are the only avenues currently available in Red Dead Online. Like the single-player campaign, these types of customizations can be performed at the barbers located in the large cities (Blackwater, Valentine, Saint Denis, etc.). These barbers, which are demarcated by a pair of scissors on the map, will not only offer to alter the length and style of a character's hair and beard, but they can change the color as well.

While some players may be looking to make more dramatic changes to their character, there are no options to further alter a character's physical features at this time (aside from deleting the character and starting anew).

Another route to pursue for those that are unhappy with their character's look is the vast array of outfits available in Red Dead Online. As with the base Red Dead Redemption 2 experience, new coats, hats, boots, and more can be purchased from the tailors that inhabit the aforementioned major cities, and tailors can be found on the game's map as jacket icons.

Of course, these types of customizations cost money and Gold Bars, and some are locked behind Rank requirements. Players that are looking to outfit their character with new duds may find Red Dead Online's infinite money glitch useful for funding their desires. Alternative options for making money include locating treasure chests, completing missions, and participating in the PvP playlists.

In time, Rockstar may introduce ways to drastically change a character's attributes. Red Dead Online offers an array of goods and services in exchange for Gold Bars, and it would not be surprising to see these types of changes become another such service in the future. For now, it is recommended that players think carefully about their character's appearance when they are at the initial character creation screen.

Red Dead Online is accessible through Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
