A Red Dead Online player attempting to mount their horse after a violent collision was left stunned as the steed inexplicably backflipped. Although Rockstar's attention has seemingly shifted to Grand Theft Auto, there are still a modest number of fans enjoying the eternal wild west of Red Dead Online.

This month saw the official end of Google's labored attempt to break into the gaming market, and it was a race against time for one dedicated Stadia gamer to secure their 6000-hour save game for Red Dead Redemption 2. Thankfully, Rockstar confirmed that all Red Dead Online players who had logged into the Stadia version within the 30 days prior to Stadia announcing its shutdown. However, it did require them to repurchase the game on a different platform such as Steam, which still maintains a few thousand players daily.

One Red Dead Online player, juice716, posted a clip to Reddit captioned "have you ever seen a horse attempt a backflip?" It begins with the outlaw chasing a wagon before violently colliding with a rocky hill they had hoped to easily traverse. The impact dismounts them, landing with enough force to reduce their health by a quarter, and an ally is seen safely navigating the same hill. But as the player gets up and approaches, their horse briefly gallops forward before performing a backflip out of nowhere. The hilarious moment stuns the player, who just watches as their now dead horse just slides down the hill. Red Dead Redemption 2 is no stranger to weird interactions and players have been known to spot horses or NPCs go flying when hit at the right angle.

A comment joked that they should rename their horse Roach, the name Geralt of Rivia gives every steed he owns. The Witcher 3's Roach became infamous for getting stuck behind fences or on top of houses, so much so that CD Projekt Red immortalized the meme with a card in Gwent.

Thankfully, horses in Red Dead Online do not stay dead forever. Simply waiting or using a Horse Reviver will see an outlaw's steed return to their side, but that does not mean Red Dead Online players will not seek justice for their horse if necessary.

Red Dead Online is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
