Red Dead Online is a popular multiplayer experience that prides itself in the almost endless amount of freedom it offers players. From an expansive open-world filled with diverse NPCs to the ability for Red Dead Online players to build a moonshine enterprise, Rockstar Games' action-adventure Western tends to have a hands-off approach to gameplay. With that said, one player has broken one of its most infamous restrictions by using a hilarious bridge glitch.

For the uninitiated, Mexico has played a pivotal part in the overall narrative of the Red Dead Redemption franchise since its initiation. Not only does the North American country serve as a metaphor for many details, themes, features that are inseparable from the Western series, but Mexico was integral to Red Dead Redemption's plot, with the second act of the game's story taking place there as John Marston tracks down his former gang mate Javier Escuella. However, Mexico was unfortunately absent from the sequel, which left many Red Dead Redemption 2 fans disappointed.

Although now, despite this in-game restriction, Reddit user ClayCanoe has posted a short 29-second-long clip of them breaking the invisible land-lock barrier but with devastatingly hilarious consequences. Leaving many gamers both amused and confused at another funny glitch in Red Dead Online, the video starts bizarrely enough with the player throwing knives into the planks of the bridge to bug it. As the bridge glitches, ClayCanoe steps onto it, which causes their character to rag-doll and scream as they are flung into the sky.

The Red Dead Online player flies through the air, high above the ground and across the border, until they swan dive headfirst into Mexican soil. Albeit, before the death screen is prompted, ClayCanoe manages to catch a glimpse of a fully rendered canyon, complete with shrubs, tumbleweed, and detailed rock formations. With all of this stunning graphical steppe just sitting untouched on the horizon of the map, it has left many players craving for Red Dead Online Mexico update that does the iconic land justice.

After all, since Red Dead Online has received a standalone release, the game has seen a lot of growth as Rockstar somewhat continues to support the title in some interesting ways. With that in mind, the idea of expanding on the regions seems like it would be an interesting integration that could bring new activities, missions, or heists.

Until that day arrives, players will have to take matters into their own hands. However, whether it be glitches or full-on Red Dead Redemption 2 Mexico mods, it's clear the community is ready to explore the region and will continue to do so even if Rockstar Games states otherwise.

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
