Developer Rockstar Games has announced an event for this week centered around the Moonshiner role in Red Dead Online. The event will help Red Dead Online players who have already established their moonshine business, as well as help players get started with their own if they haven't yet.

For anybody who doesn't know, Red Dead Online is the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 that allows players to join online lobbies filled with other players to take on different roles and jobs to earn money and XP. The role allows Red Dead Online players to purchase a shack to use as a front for their moonshine business, where they can distill different flavors of moonshine to sell.

This week's event in particular gives a lot of nice bonuses to players working on their moonshine business. Not only will moonshine missions grant players double money and XP for rewards, but players selling their moonshine will also net 1.5x the money and 2x the role XP they normally would. The boosts are pretty sizable, so any players looking to level up or make some money quickly might want to grab some of Red Dead Online's various herbs so that they can start distilling some high-quality moonshine to sell.

For any players who are just starting moonshining, the event will also give them 10 free mash refills to distill with as well as a 40% discount on any novice or promising moonshiner items. For players with a moonshining level of at least 20, that discount will apply towards established or distinguished moonshine items. Any players that have yet to get their moonshine business off the ground will also be able to enjoy a five gold bar discount on a new moonshine shack, bringing the price down to 20 gold bars total. Hopefully, the discounts and free mash will help moonshiners have some money left over to afford some of Red Dead Online's more expensive luxuries.

The update also includes discounts on various shop items like clothing and upgrades for player's moonshine shacks. Hopefully, the update satisfies players who like the moonshine activities in Red Dead Online. The online mode has been receiving a lot of attention from Rockstar Games, and was even given its own standalone release.

While it does not boast the impressive player counts of Grand Theft Auto Online, it has built its own solid player base and it is good to see that Rockstar Games is intent on supporting it for those players.

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
