With Red Dead Redemption 2 being one of the most anticipated games of 2018, it's no surprise that it has had a few leaks. One of the more prominent currently circulating is that the western title was receiving a PC port via a retailer listing but that turned out to just be a placeholder. Hopefully, this latest leak comes to fruition, as it comes straight from the companion app.

Dataminers dove into the companion app to see what they could discover about Red Dead Redemption 2 and came across info that appears to be connected to Red Dead Online. For some, this online mode could be the most exciting aspect of the game, especially after the success of Grand Theft Auto Online.

The details discovered in the app's code suggest that, like its GTA counterpart, Red Dead Online features an adversary mode. It is unknown if it will operate in the same manner, but it seems likely that it will be very similar.

It was also revealed the multiplayer mode would include private sessions as well as "seamless PvE." The latter certainly seems interesting, but again, it remains to be seen how this will be implemented.

The last thing discovered is the Rockstar Editor, which was a highly requested feature all the way through launch. Based on the coding, it appears this feature will be made available for everyone sometime in the near future, but in the meantime, there is plenty to keep players busy such as hunting down dreamcatchers.

It's also worth mentioning that, aside from being the source for these leaks, the companion app has a lot more that it can do for its players. For those venturing across the wide map of Red Dead Redemption 2, we'd recommend checking it out.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
