One big draw for Rockstar Games' Red Dead Online, the multiplayer component of 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, is the expansive character creation tool that allows players to explore the West as just about anyone they can manage to design. Creative players have made characters like Bryan Cranston's Walter White in Red Dead Redemption 2, paying homage to AMC's popular drama Breaking Bad, and today a Reddit user uploaded a picture of their take on America's 16th President, Abraham Lincoln.

Oscar Dante, who goes by Barnard-Sanders, posted their take on Honest Abe to the r/reddeadredemption subreddit saying they will be "keeping it for a while." Lincoln famously led the Union during America's Civil War in the 1860s, and issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862 before being assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in 1865. The top-rated comment on Dante's Reddit post as of this writing references the historical moment by saying the Red Dead Online player should not go near any theaters while using their version of President Lincoln.

Though the game has been around for a few years, Rockstar continues updating it, giving players more reasons to return and try out different custom characters. The online game's latest massive update, The Naturalist, had so many bugs and game-breaking issues that Rockstar rolled back the Red Dead Online update earlier this month to address its problems.

That said, even with its glaring issues, Red Dead Online's The Naturalist update has added a lot of content for players to sink their teeth into. For example, there are now more Native American customization options in Red Dead Online thanks to the incorporation of new clothing in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. store.

The Naturalist has also added new gameplay features beyond just its titular role for players to take on with their customized characters. New legendary animals are roaming the West as of this recent update, playing into the themes of a storyline centered around hunting versus conservation efforts.

There appears to be even more on the horizon for fans of the ongoing title. Leaked code hints at a Director Mode coming to Red Dead Redemption 2, which would allow players to control animals and characters so they can make movies, like in Grand Theft Auto 5. If this does come to pass in a future update, Dante will likely be ready to create some interesting content using his Abraham Lincoln character.

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
