Rebel Wolves is a new start-up game development studio comprised of industry veterans who have worked on Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Thronebreaker, and more. It is headed by CEO and Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz as the studio embarks on making a new dark fantasy RPG in Unreal Engine 5.

Announced today via a press release, Rebel Wolves (based in Warsaw, Poland) intends to stand out from the crowd by putting the team first and foremost always. This comes from Tomaszkiewicz and others’ vision to create a studio that did things differently, with the press release emphasizing this team-first philosophy by stating that “a lone wolf may be powerful, but true strength lies in the pack

Rebel Wolves Teaser Key Art

The Unreal Engine 5 Dark Fantasy RPG from Rebel Wolves is planned to be the first in a series of AAA story-driven RPGs, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Not much else is known, but above is some concept art associated with the game. On this new title, Szamalek says, “our goal is clearly defined: to create memorable games, tell moving stories, and evoke visceral emotions…I don’t want to create another game. I want to work on titles people will remember.”

To fulfill these goals, Rebel Wolves will be hiring for a multitude of game development roles, both in-house and remote, in the coming months. Ultimately, however, as put by Tomaszkiewicz, the goal of Rebel Wolves is “to stay small and agile—a place where people know and care for each other.” This philosophy ties in with how Rebel Wolves wants to move away from traditional AAA development.

Fans can expect to learn more about Rebel Wolves in the coming months and years, as more and more of its dark fantasy RPG comes together. It remains to be seen exactly what this game holds, but since it’s planned as a series, it’ll be interesting to see what comes out of Rebel Wolves.
