In the world of role-playing games (RPGs), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are two of the most highly acclaimed games. Their central characters are Geralt of Rivia and the Last Dragonborn, respectively.

With both of these warriors having years of experience under their belt, it raises the question of who would win a battle? Unquestionably, the mythic clash would be hard-fought. Both are magic users, projectile shooters, and sword-wielders. Even video game protagonists do not always get along. These are five reasons why Geralt of Rivia can beat the Last Dragonborn (and five why he can't).

10 Years Of Experience (Geralt Would Win)

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, your player's age is selected when you start the game. The game presents you with a prophecy on Alduin's Wall describing the return of Alduin, and his death by the hands of the Last Dragonborn. This prophecy says nothing about the legendary Dragonborn being centuries old, so we can assume he is not a senior like Geralt.

Geralt is 90-100 years old in The Wild Hunt, and Witchers can live for centuries. His grizzled look reflects his experience on the battlefield. With battle scars and white hair, Geralt of Rivia is a more experienced warrior than the Last Dragonborn.

9 Dragon Shouts (The Last Dragonborn Would Win)

The Last Dragonborn is an immensely powerful character who knows a wide variety of Dragon Shouts. Only a select few, including the Greybeards, can use Dragon Shouts in The Elder Scrolls lore. These illusive shouts use ancient magic and strike with force.

Undoubtedly, Geralt of Rivia would be caught off-guard by these Shouts. As a witcher, Geralt can not die from natural causes, but there is nothing ordinary about Dragon Shouts.

8 Supernatural Speed (Geralt Would Win)

"Watch out, Geralt! He dodged again at the last minute. Brilliant lightning ploughed a furrow in the ground, the air hissed with colour, murderously sharp fragments from broken windows." In The Lady of the Lake novel, Geralt of Rivia reacted to a lightning bolt, dodging it at the last second. This gives us the impression that he can move faster than the speed of light.

The Dragonborn can slow time using Dragon Shouts, yet he can't move quicker than the speed of light. Also, Geralt's Witcher senses are everlasting, while the Dragonborn's time-slowing effects only last for up to sixteen seconds.

7 Transformations (The Last Dragonborn Would Win)

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, players can transform into many legendary creatures. You can become a vampire or a werewolf during different quest lines.

In a game like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, however, Geralt of Rivia cannot transform. The Last Dragonborn gains a significant power boost from these shifts, making him or her almost unstoppable.

6 Has Faced A Variety Of Monsters (Tie)

Being the most versatile fighter would be advantageous against a new opponent. The Last Dragonborn is known for facing dragons, vampires, werewolves, demon priests, undead, and giants.

Geralt of Rivia has also faced his fair share of foes. We've seen the witcher beat enemies like fiends, bears, dragons, gargoyles, archgriffins, and more. It gets to the point where each protagonist has fought countless enemies, which is why this category results in a tie.

5 Can Summon Dragons (The Last Dragonborn Would Win)

The witcher has narrowly beat dragons, yet the Last Dragonborn can summon dragons. It takes about five minutes for the dragon, Durnehviir, to finally appear. Once he does, however, he can help you in battle. This feature was added in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard add-on.

It goes to show that the Last Dragonborn can communicate with and persuade dragons to fight on his side. The witcher is not invincible, and he would have trouble defeating the Dragonborn's summons.

4 The Witcher Senses (Geralt Would Win)

Although the player does not activate witcher senses in combat, it can be assumed that his passive witcher senses are used. With witcher senses, Geralt of Rivia activates superhuman powers that allow him to see tracks.

The Last Dragonborn would be unable to hide from Geralt, as Geralt would track him down relentlessly. Geralt can also find items like crossbows and swords with his senses.

3 Magic (The Last Dragonborn Would Win)

There is a skill system in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that allows you to learn new magic spells. Perhaps the most overlooked sign in the game is Supercharged Glyphs. Supercharged Glyphs create magical traps that can damage multiple opponents. We've also seen impressive demonstrations of magic from the Last Dragonborn.

The Fire Storm Destruction spell is comparable to a nuclear warhead! According to thegamer.com, "This master level fire spell deals 100 damage in a massive area around the caster." Both characters display expertise in magic, but the Last Dragonborn has the edge for his Shouts and Destruction spells.

2 Marksmanship (Geralt Would Win)

It's almost as if the world moves in slow motion when Geralt is wielding a crossbow. When you start The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Geralt of Rivia doesn't have a crossbow. After obtaining the armor-piercing projectile weapon, however, players can inflict massive damage from afar. By comparison, the Dragonborn's bow and crossbow are not as powerful.

It's clear from Skyrim that the Dragonborn can be slain. To make things worse for the Dragonborn, Geralt's crossbow bolts never run out. Geralt would zero in on his opponent and bring him down.

1 Winner (The Last Dragonborn)

After extensive review, we have concluded that the Last Dragonborn would win this battle of epic proportions. Both the Last Dragonborn and Geralt of Rivia would fight tirelessly, using their full range of attacks to locate a weak point.

Showing a great display of valor, the Last Dragonborn would summon a dragon and strike with an explosive Fire Storm. Geralt of Rivia would counter with accurate projectiles, penetrating his opponent's armor. In the end, the Last Dragonborn's magic and weapon damage would be too much for Geralt. The Last Dragonborn narrowly emerges as victorious.
