A real-life version of one of Splatoon 3's lockers was made by a crafty and passionate fan. Lockers are one of the most exciting new features in Splatoon 3 and quickly became popular with fans who now had a new place to personalize their in-game presence.

Splatoon 3 is the newest game in the Splatoon series and brought with it a wealth of additions to the player experience, particularly with the game's social aspect. The locker room in Splatoon 3 lets players decorate their lockers with in-game items like stickers, clothing, weapons, and artwork. Players can view the lockers of their friends and others by visiting the locker room in the back of the lobby.

Lockers have proven to be one of Splatoon 3's most popular features as they incentives players to work harder to earn more decorations, adding to the personalization aspect of the game. A Splatoon 3 fan on Reddit went the extra mile and made their own real-life miniature version of the locker. The mini-locker was embellished with decorations that included stickers, models of Splatoon 3 weapons, and a Splatoon 3 Smallfry amiibo.

The locker also contained mem cakes, items that were collectibles in Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. The fan who made this locker, who goes by the username WillaceWestus2, added that they got the stickers from the official Splatoon weapon model sets and that the locker itself was purchased from the store Typo. Fans in the comments jokingly mentioned that the locker lacked any moai heads, one of the earliest decorations players can earn in Splatoon 3's single-player mode. These heads were a popular choice of locker decoration during the early days of Splatoon 3 and have become a meme in the game's community.

Relative to other Nintendo franchises, Splatoon has comparatively fewer sales and popularity in western markets and has never quite reached the levels of Mario, The Legend of Zelda, or Animal Crossing. One can infer multiple reasons for this, a prominent one being that Splatoon is still a fairly new series with the first game released in 2015. However, the sales success of Splatoon 3 shows that there does still exist a passionate fanbase for the franchise that can help ensure its future success.

Splatoon's fanbase clearly has a lot of investment in the series' world and characters, such as the Splatoon 3 announcer Big Man who almost immediately became a fan-favorite character as soon as he was revealed. Fan creations like this locker are emblematic of this enthusiasm and show that even if it never lights the world on fire with success, the Splatoon series is sure to have a fanbase for years to come.

Splatoon 3 is available now for Nintendo Switch.
