One of the cool additions to Capcom's Resident Evil 4 remake is the Merchant Requests; basically, side quests that the enigmatic purveyor of firearms and upgrades will send players on in order to obtain the upgrade material known as Spinels. While sometimes it may involve fetching an important item or clearing a place of pests, the Merchant Request for the Merciless Knight might just be the most challenging yet.

For players hoping to prepare adequately before taking on this challenge, this guide will lay out the steps on how to complete the Merciless Knight Merchant Request in Resident Evil 4.

How to Complete the Merciless Knight Merchant Request in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The Merchant Request can be found during Chapter 10, right after Ashley is taken away and control goes back to Leon. Enter the newly opened door, and the blue note with information about this side quest can be found on the right side of a cabinet. Players will have to head to the Mausoleum to do battle with the titular Merciless Knight.

To get there, head out the door to the right and continue on the path, and do use the map if things get too confusing, as the target will be marked on the map with a sinister-looking icon. Eventually, the path will lead down into the Mausoleum, the same location where Ashley had to ring the four gongs in order to make it out earlier on.

Instead of a room surrounded by infested armor, now, a golden suit of armor stands in the middle, flanked by two of its less impressive cohorts.

In terms of preparation, be sure to have the combat knife in working order to help with the parries that will come in handy against this trio. Once Leon is close enough, all three suits will come to life and begin shambling toward their newfound target.

As is with similar enemies, the best way is to aim for the exposed regions of the armor with the parasite. Target the two weaker suits of armor first, get them stunned, and follow up with a melee attack to expose the monsters within. Rather than waste ammo, simply toss a Flash Grenade to eliminate them first.

Now that the distractions are out of the way, the full focus should be on the golden armor. Unfortunately, because the parasite is located on the back, it can be hard to get a good shot in. This is where parrying comes into play, as it will stun the enemy for a short while, so make use of the time to circle around and pump the parasite full of shotgun shells. Expose it like the others, and use either another Flashbang or the strongest weapons to end it off.

Once all of the threats have been taken care of, head back to the Merchant and claim the prize of 8 Spinel for the troubles. This should come in handy for the next leg of Leon's quest to save Ashley.
