A brand new, gorgeous trailer for the upcoming Ratchet & Clank remake game for the PlayStation 4 drops during Sony's press conference at Paris Games Week.

Sony certainly came out swinging during their Paris Games Week press conference today, bombarding PlayStation 4 fans with numerous trailers for a number of upcoming PS4 exclusives. Out of all the trailers released by Sony today, however, perhaps the most impressive looking was the one for the upcoming remake of Ratchet & Clank.

The newest Ratchet & Clank trailer shines a light on the game's jaw-dropping visuals, while also revealing numerous gameplay sequences that were not found in the original game. This includes an explosive spaceship battle, new platforming sections for Clank, new boss fights, and more.

The new Ratchet & Clank game is meant to serve as a reboot of sorts for the franchise, which will align the video game universe with the story of the upcoming Ratchet & Clank movie. This is evident in the game trailer by Clank referring to the "Rangers," a group of heroes that Ratchet idolizes in the film, but who didn't appear in the games until Up Your Arsenal.

While it's clear that Insomniac's intent is to align the video game world with the one depicted in the film, there seems to be a slight contradiction present in this latest game trailer, involving Captain Qwark. The first trailer for the Ratchet & Clank movie depicted a somewhat competent Captain Qwark, who appeared to be a legitimate hero.

Those familiar with the franchise know that Qwark is typically depicted as a bumbling idiot, and that side of his character is apparent within seconds of the game trailer. Perhaps Qwark's true colors will shine through at some point in the movie, and the filmmakers are purposefully hiding that aspect of his character for the benefit of those that are unfamiliar with Ratchet & Clank.

If the trailer is any indication, it looks as though the Ratchet & Clank remake delay has paid off quite considerably. The game looks even better than it did in its initial gameplay trailer, and this latest trailer has us incredibly excited to get our hands on the final product. Sony stopped short of announcing when exactly that would be, but one would imagine that the game will release around the same time as the film, which will premiere in theaters on April 29th, 2016.
