One of the first games revealed for the PlayStation 5 was Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from Insomniac Games. At the time, the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart release date was expected to be within the PS5's launch window, but it seems to have slipped beyond that. Insomniac Games has released a brand new trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart that reveals the highly-anticipated game's release date.

After a Taiwan ratings board leak suggested that the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart release date would be revealed sooner rather than later, Insomniac Games has made the official announcement. The Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart release date is June 11, exclusively on Sony's next-generation PlayStation 5 console. Those interested in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart can pre-order the game now.

Those that pre-order Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be able to get their hands on some exclusive content. This includes the Carbonox Armor from 2003's Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando for Ratchet and the still-unidentified female Ratchet, as well as the Pixelizer weapon that was featured in the Ratchet & Clank remake from 2016. This armor and weapon should be readily familiar to longtime fans of the Ratchet & Clank franchise, but they've been given visual upgrades to match the PS5's standards.

Ratchet & Clank fans can also purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game for $79.99, $10 more expensive than the base game's $69.99 asking price. The Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the full game, five armor sets, a photo mode sticker pack, 20 Raritanium (described as in-game upgrade materials), the digital soundtrack, and the digital art book. It's unclear how plentiful Raritanium will be in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but it seems as though the Digital Deluxe Edition will give players a decent head-start when it comes to upgrading Ratchet's weapons.

With the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart release date now in sight, fans should learn a lot more about the game and what exactly it will entail. The identity of the mysterious female Lombax will likely be revealed, as will the full scope of Dr. Nefarious' plans. More gameplay details will likely be revealed in the months leading up to launch as well, so Ratchet & Clank fans should have a lot to look forward to this year.

When Insomniac launches Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, one has to imagine that the studio will turn its focus to its next major project. Insomniac's next game after Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has not been revealed at the time of this writing, but it's generally believed to be Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches June 11, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
