These consoles were only released in a certain region, for a short period of time, or only given to specific people. 10 Nintendo Wii U The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Edition ($700)

When The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker HD was released on the Wii U, it made a lot of fans of the franchise go out to buy a Wii U. Considering this console wasn't exactly one of Nintendo's most popular releases, this was a pretty big deal.

If you're simply trying to buy it to play the game, you won't have that much trouble. It regularly sells (without the game included) for around $200 and you can pick up the game separately. But if you're a collector looking for a sealed console in the box? Be prepared to shell out up to $700.

9 Pikachu Edition Sega Pico (Priceless)

The Sega Pico is a console that not a lot of people that weren't parents living in Japan in the 1990s were really familiar with. The console was an educational console aimed at younger children that had book-shaped cartridges that the user would interact with. In general, the Pico isn't that collectible of a console. But there's one limited edition version that has Nintendo fans all over wishing they could buy one.

During the height of the Pokémon craze, Sega released a special edition Pikachu console. This Pikachu-themed Pico console came bundled together with a Pokémon-themed game, designed to teach children to read Japanese letters. How much does the Pikachu limited edition version of the Pico console cost? No one knows. It's so rare that it's hard to even find one for sale, making this console pretty much priceless.

8 Gold Sony PS4 Bundle - Taco Bell Limited Edition Console ($800)

The various different PlayStation consoles have definitely seen quite a few different limited edition versions. Limited edition PlayStation consoles are released for various different games and events, but none of them are quite as rare or interseting as the gold PS4 that was released.

The gold PlayStation 4 was released during a short period of time back in 2015, but it wasn't sold in stores. How could a gamer have gotten their hands on one? By eating at Taco Bell. After purchasing a Big Box at Taco Bell, they'd get a code and they could redeem it to see if they had won a gold PS4 or not. Today, they sell for about $800 if they're in their original box.

7 Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP 24K Gold Edition (Priceless)

This 24k gold plated Nintendo Game Boy Advance is an incredibly rare console. If you're a fan of Nintendo or keep up with limited edition consoles in any way, you've likely heard of this console at some point in time. It was originally released as part of a promotion for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

Tickets were placed inside Game Boy Advance boxes that informed the buyer that they had just won this limited edition gold console. Allegedly, six were made to be given out as prizes, but it's hard to say whether or not that figure is true. This console is so rare that Nintendo fans were just excited to see pictures of the alleged console pop up online, nevermind actually owning one. How much does it cost? Its rarity makes it impossible to put a price tag on it.

6 Resident Evil - Code: Veronica Dreamcast Console ($2,000)

Ther were two different versions of this special edition Dreamcast released exclusively in Japan. They were created and released to celebrate the release of Resident Evil - Code: Veronica. Two different versions of this console were created and both of them are super rare now. Whether you're a console collector or just a serious fan of the series, this is a console that many people would be happy to have.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to get your hands on. The red version, known as the Claire edition, had about 1,800 of it created. Meanwhile, there's a purple version, known as the STARS edition, that had around 200 created. In order to get your hands on the Claire one, you'll have to shell out $2,000 or more. And the STARS one? It's too rare to even put a price on.

5 Nintendo Game Boy Micro Console Mother 3 ($700 - $2,000)

Mother 3 is a the final game in the Mother series and was only released in Japan. Even though the game was only released in Japan, the game's main character, Lucas, has still become a Nintendo icon and has gone on to be featured in other games like Super Smash BrosUltimate.

Because of the fact that the game wasn't released outside of Japan, it's become a popular focus of many game collections. This console alone sells for around $700. If you want to get one complete in the box, it's going to set you back over $1,000. Finding one brand new? It'll be more than double that price.

4 Game Boy Advanced SP Famicon Color Edition ($1,000)

The Nintendo Game Boy Advance is a console that got a lot of different special edition variations. Some of them have become majorly collectible in recent years. One of those is the Famicom Color edition of the console.

It was released to celebrate the 20th birthday of the Famicom, also known outside of Japan as the NES. Because of the fact that the NES has gotten so popular among video game fans recently, it's no surprise that this console has gotten even more collectible now. It's not easy to track down, but it will set you back up to $1,000 to get one complete in the box.

3 Osamu Tezuka Game Boy Light ($600)

Osamu Tezuka is known as basically being the Japanese equivalent of Walt Disney. He's the creator of many beloved manga characters and, after releasing his first popular manga series, New Treasure Island, in the 1940s, manga began to take off.

This Game Boy Light has art that features Osamu Tezuka's characters on the front. Finding a new version of this console in the box is rare, but if you manage to find one, it'll set you back nearly $600.

2 Hannah Montana Lilac Edition PSP ($350)

There have been limited edition consoles related to just about everything. One really surprising one that not a lot of people except serious collectors are even aware existed is the Hannah Montana Rock Out the Show edition of the PSP.

It's a pastel purple color and came with a Hannah Montana-themed game. Although this is definitely not one of the most sought-after games in the PSP world, the fact that it was limited edition and this unique color makes it a popular one for collectors. To get one new in the box, it'll cost around $350.

1 Hatsune Miku Edition PS Vita ($500)

Hatsune Miku is a digital pop star that has become a massive phenomenon in Japan. She's done brand deals for so many different things. From Domino's pizza to car commercials, Hatsune Miku is everywhere in Japan.

So, is it any surprise that she even had her own video game? And a console too? This console is a white PS Vita that was only released in Japan. The back has Hatsune Miku art and it was bundled with the Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva game. Being a limited edition console only released in one country makes this PS Vita pretty rare. To get one, it'll cost a collector around $500.
